Lifeline Express Commendation Conference Held in Beijing – Eyedeal Honored with “Visionary Achievement Award”
On November 21, the 27th Anniversary and 2024 Annual Commendation Conference of the Lifeline Express and China Lifeline Express Foundation was grandly held at the Harbour Plaza Beijing. With the theme “Keeping Pace with the Times, Living Up to the Mission,” the event comprehensively reviewed the outstanding achievements of Lifeline Express in 2024 and honored organizations and individuals who made exceptional contributions to blindness prevention and treatment in China. Xi’an Eyedeal Medical Technology Co., Ltd. was recognized for its outstanding technical capabilities and public welfare contributions with the “Visionary Achievement Award.
Weizhong Gao, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Center of the National Health Commission, delivered a speech in which he highly praised the contributions of philanthropic enterprises. He stated:“Medical enterprises like Eyedeal represent the growing importance of Chinese manufacturing and innovation on the global stage. Their commitment to public welfare reflects a strong sense of responsibility, and their international expansion enhances the global influence of Chinese-made products. These efforts bring not only health and vision to people in need but also significant political, social, and public health impact, while supporting trade, investment, and local production.”
Lifeline Express is China’s only charitable ophthalmic hospital built on a train. Since its inception in 1997, it has expanded from a single train to four, traveling across 28 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions. It has provided free cataract surgeries for over 240,000 patients in underdeveloped areas. In addition to surgeries, Lifeline Express places great emphasis on ophthalmology training, having built a training network that has professionally trained thousands of grassroots eye doctors, significantly enhancing primary-level eye care.
On the international front, the “Belt and Road Brightness Journey” project, launched in 2016, has yielded impressive results. The project has traveled to countries including Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, performing 4,360 free cataract surgeries across 11 regions in 7 countries, offering ongoing charitable eye care services to local populations.
In 2024, Lifeline Express achieved remarkable results in rural revitalization and blindness prevention, benefiting over 6,000 patients in China and nearly 1,000 cataract patients in Belt and Road partner countries. The organization also made notable progress in the construction of ophthalmology centers and in international collaborations for ophthalmic education and technological exchange.
Wei Guo, Secretary-General of the China Lifeline Express Foundation, reported:“In August this year, Lifeline Express organized an academic exchange in Xi’an with ophthalmic experts from four Central Asian countries. The delegation visited hospitals and medical device companies, exploring frontier technologies and clinical experiences in ophthalmology. This event not only deepened mutual understanding among international experts but also opened new avenues for collaboration in eye care.”
In August, health officials and ophthalmologists from Central Asia visited Xi’an Eyedeal for exchange and inspection.
As a leading enterprise in ophthalmic medical devices, Eyedeal actively engages in public welfare efforts to ensure that innovative medical achievements benefit more people in need. In August 2024, Eyedeal donated 5,000 intraocular lenses to the China Lifeline Express Foundation to support the charitable programs of Lifeline Express both in China and in Belt and Road countries.
Guangxu Guo, Chairman and CEO of Eyedeal, remarked:“It is a great honor to receive the ‘Visionary Achievement Award’ from the Lifeline Express public welfare project. This award not only affirms Eyedeal’s efforts but also reflects expectations for our future development. We will remain committed to our original mission — to contribute to human visual health — and continue to deliver high-quality products through innovation. We will bring more light to the world through real action.”
